About the Event
A two-week exhibition will feature a 30-minute film showcasing the Wellstead District—located in the eastern reaches of the City of Albany.
The film offers insight into the culture, history, and scenic beauty of Albany’s largest rural district, accompanied by a curated display of stories and significant items. These include historical photographs, artworks, feather banners, objects of local heritage, and written reflections on the district’s unique biodiversity.
A ‘Sharing Stories’ program will run alongside the exhibition, featuring guest speakers such as Traditional Custodians, agricultural settlers, and today’s farmers. Together, they will share personal connections to the land and explore future challenges including climate change, environmental and community health, cultural preservation, market shifts, and long-term sustainability.
