Opportunities
Community Invitation
2026 will be a year of vibrant, exciting activities and projects. The City of Albany is supporting a wide variety of events and community projects throughout the year, but also recognises that there is far more happening across the City.
If you have a project planned for 2026, the City would love to hear from you! The Community Invitation aims to capture some of the other amazing work being done around the local area that aligns with the Albany 2026 strategic themes.
To see how the City of Albany can support your plans, review the Community Invitation Guidelines and complete the online form before 16 November 2025.

Theatre 180
Theatre 180 are conducting oral history interviews, capturing stories and anecdotes from those with connections to Albany. These captures will help form the exciting project, 'Our Place: Rain or Shine' supported by Lotterywest. Email Theatre 180 (link below) to get involved!

What is Kinjarling / Albany to you?
A community-centred collaborative project, ‘Albany Is’ invites listeners to explore the rich cultural and natural landscape of Kinjarling / Albany through a collection of audio recordings. Drawing on local voices, natural soundscapes and archival material, the work will offer a rich and evolving reflection on our identity.
We’d love to hear your story; found out how contribute below:

What is your craft story?
Albany filmmaker & visual designer, Josephine Jay (Gneiss Design) is creating a filmic portrait of Albany, its uniqueness and the ways that creativity flourishes within its folds.
Demonstrating links between our environment and creative practice, the documentary celebrates Albany’s astonishing craftspeople.
‘In The Making’ will be launched at Albany Town Hall in the latter half of 2026, together with an exhibition of local crafts, and a concert featuring locally made instruments.
Do you or a friend have a story or a craft that you’d like to share or talk about? Josephine would love to hear from you.
