About the Event

Join respected local historian Malcolm Traill for a fascinating journey through Albany's maritime past.

For more than 30 years, Malcolm has worked to research, preserve and share Albany's history as an author, presenter, educator and consultant. He has written extensively on Albany and regional history, delivered public talks across the Great Southern, and worked closely with local Elders and community groups.

Drawing on material from his latest book, South, Malcolm will share stories of the people, vessels and events that helped shape Albany's identity as one of Australia's most significant maritime ports.

This talk forms part of the exhibition Early Boatbuilding Around Albany and 50 Years of the Amity Replica, which explores Albany's maritime heritage and commemorates the 50th anniversary of the construction of the Amity replica.
