Community encouraged to extend an invitation for Albany 2026

The City of Albany is encouraging locals to help launch Western Australia’s first bicentenary by personally inviting friends and family to visit Albany during 2026.

The destination marketing campaign, See You Soon, calls on the community to be part of this historic moment by sending invitations to loved ones, welcoming them to experience a once-in-a-generation program of major cultural, artistic and reconciliation events

Mayor Greg Stocks said the campaign harnesses community pride to help share Albany’s story with the rest of the state and beyond.

“2026 is a historic year for Albany, and if there was ever a time to invite someone to visit, this is it,” he said.

“This campaign is about pride in place and the power of personal connection.

“Albany will be welcoming the world in 2026, and our community has an opportunity to be part of that invitation.”

Whether it is a heartfelt letter or a light-hearted message, every invitation is a chance to remind someone of what makes Albany special, and why this landmark year is one they will not want to miss.

See You Soon invites locals to play a meaningful role in that story by helping bring others along for the journey. Invite your friends, family, everyone, to visit Albany during 2026!
