I am the Deputy Chair of the Albany 2026 Cultural Advice Sub-Committee and am involved in several projects for 2026 in the Major Events space, in New Years Eve 2025 preparations, and many incredible community projects throughout the year.
Albany is my Ancestral Land and has been my home for some 60 years. I am an author and storyteller who loves to bridge the gap between my Noongar heritage and Wadjella family as a person living within a dual-cultural lifestyle
Throughout my working career and beyond, I have held many ministerial positions, am experienced in community development and have played a significant role in several initiatives, including the Single Noongar Land Claim Settlement and Review of the Aboriginal Lands Trust. I have worked all over WA in rural and remote areas.
I have long been an advocate for social justice, education and cultural empowerment, especially for women and Noongar peoples.
Albany 2026 is special to me because it is a time when we can share and embrace our history, educate people about Noongar culture and lore, and bring people together to allow our culture to survive and thrive into the future. I ask that people look within and be authentic in their effort to speak their truth about the past whilst working toward a bright future with compassion and acceptance.
