For over over thirty years, I have worked to record, preserve and share Albany’s history as a consultant, presenter, author and teacher. I have written extensively on Albany and regional history in journals and have presented public talks on Albany history for the past fifteen years and work closely with local Elders and community. I am also a national and state committee member of Professional Historians Association.

As a community member, I have been a stallholder at the Albany Farmers Markets since 2002. I have also co-curated two art exhibitions and an expo at the Albany Town Hall.

Albany 2026 is an opportunity to demonstrate that Albany is still the ‘Friendly Frontier’ in terms of our commitment to equal opportunity to the Menang community and how the Menang community has been integral to the planning and delivery of the 2026 program.

We can position ourselves as the state’s regional cultural capital and as a leading light on a national scale, which will hopefully lead to greater opportunities for State and Federal funding of cultural events and community facilities.
