As Artistic Director and CEO of Breaksea, I am honoured to be involved in two pivotal Albany 2026 projects that interweave community voice, traditional wisdom and ambitious artistic innovation. In collaboration with West Australian Opera, we are creating a new stage production: a genre‑defying fusion of music and storytelling co‑written with local youth, Menang Noongar elders, emerging artists and award‑winning professionals.Simultaneously, Breaksea is programming a spectacular New Year’s Eve event to mark the beginning of 2026, integrated into Albany’s annual festivities.
I am an award‑winning director and former opera singer, raised in regional Western Australia and based in Boorloo (Perth). A graduate of WAAPA and the Royal College of Music, London, I aim to bring rigorous training and an international perspective to my work.
Formerly a performer myself, I have toured internationally in Olivier Award‑winning productions and across more than 75 theatres in the UK and Europe. My work is characterised by deep community engagement, cultural collaboration, and innovative storytelling rooted in Western Australian voices and traditions.
2026 represents a profoundly significant moment to pause and reflect on both our history and future. I am grateful to the Menang Noongar elders for speaking the truth about our region’s past and generously inviting us into conversations about our shared future. I wish to acknowledge the First Peoples of this land and pay my respects to elders past, present and emerging. My hope is to contribute in a way that nurtures positive community change and fosters shared experiences grounded in respect and learning.
