About the Event
The public launch of A Gift of Truth Telling: Notes on the Bicentenary of Albany, Issue No. 38 of Studies in Western Australian History, brought together historians, researchers and community members to celebrate a significant contribution to Albany's bicentenary.
Featuring 18 articles by multiple authors, the journal explored a broad range of Albany and regional history through a Menang First lens. Co-editors Harry Freemantle and Malcolm Traill introduced several contributing authors, who shared insights into their research and the stories captured within the publication.
The launch highlighted the value of historical research and truth-telling in deepening understanding of Albany's past and enriching conversations during the Albany 2026 program.
