About the Event

Honour the courage, sacrifice and enduring legacy of our veterans through an evening of film, music and dance at the Albany Entertainment Centre.

This special Remembrance Day event brings together professional performers and local veterans for a moving tribute grounded in Albany’s community and military history.

The evening will feature a short film sharing the stories of Albany veterans, followed by performances from Perth and Albany-based artists.

The event will culminate in A Tree We Grew, an original ballet telling a love story set in Australia during the Second World War. Performed by former principal dancers of the West Australian Ballet and Australian Ballet alongside WAAPA students, the production has enjoyed several sold-out seasons and was nominated for an APRA AMCOS Art Music Award for Best Dramatic Work of the Year.

Through themes of love, resilience, remembrance and unity, A Tree We Grew invites audiences to reflect on those who devoted their lives to the nation.
