About the Event
The Albany Bicentenary Badminton Tournament 2026 was a milestone sporting event for the Great Southern. As the first State Ranking badminton event ever hosted in the region, it highlighted the growth of the sport and the drive to progress the sport in the area.
In recognition of its scale and significance, the tournament was upgraded to a Premier Event by Badminton Australia, placing it among Western Australia’s most prestigious badminton competitions. The program boasted 28 events spanning Open, Graded, Junior, and Wheelchair divisions, and a record $22,000 prize pool. Players and spectators experienced a competitive and vibrant long‑weekend that will continue to attract WA's top badminton players to Albany.
