About the Event
The Albany Bicentenary Badminton Tournament 2026 is a milestone sporting event for the Great Southern. As the first State Ranking badminton event ever hosted in the region, it highlights the growth of the sport and the drive to progress the sport in the Great Southern region.
In recognition of its scale and significance, the tournament has been upgraded to a Premier Event by Badminton Australia, placing it among Western Australia’s most prestigious badminton competitions. This program boasts 28 events spanning Open, Graded, Junior, and Wheelchair divisions, and a record $22,000 prize pool. Players and spectators can expect a competitive and vibrant long‑weekend experience which will attract WA's top badminton players to Albany.
The tournament invites the community to be part of Albany 2026 whilst engaging in the growing legacy of badminton in the Great Southern.
