About the Event
Local artists bring Albany’s stories to life through creativity and imagination in this special art project inspired by the pages of the Encyclopaedia Britannica.
To mark Albany’s rich culture and the upcoming 2026 Bicentenary, 23 volumes of the 1962 Encyclopaedia Britannica were given to artists to reimagine in any medium, transforming knowledge into creative expression. Each artist and artist group received one volume to inspire their creativity.
The artworks explore Albany’s past and present, from Menang Noongar history to its role as WA’s first port, ANZAC connections, and its vibrant multicultural community.
