About the Event
CinefestOZ Albany is bringing the magic of Australian cinema to Middleton Beach in late November to December, with three free community screenings celebrating the region’s rich screen history and the talented creatives who have helped bring Albany to life on screen.
The special program will feature much-loved Australian films H is for Happiness, Breath and Almost With You, alongside a selection of short films made in Albany, giving audiences the chance to revisit familiar landscapes, celebrate local stories and experience the big-screen magic of filmmaking in their own backyard.
From Albany’s spectacular coastline to its thriving creative community, the Great Southern has long captured the imagination of filmmakers. Productions made in the region have showcased its extraordinary locations to audiences around Australia, while creating opportunities for local cast, crew and businesses to be part of the screen industry.
With free entry, the Middleton Beach screenings offer a relaxed opportunity for locals and visitors to enjoy a selection of Australian favourites and discover the short films showcasing Albany’s own creative talent.
