About the Event

French flower making (that’s fancy for making flowers from fabric)

Learn the fine art of making beautiful flowers from your fabric offcuts or old textiles, skills you can take home and replicate to make gorgeous 3d flowers to turn into brooches, add on a stem to place in a vase and more!

Everything is provided for you in the specially curated kits

Tamara:

* Explains which types of fabric are suitable

* Demonstrates how to apply the special treatment of the fabric so that it holds its form

* Teaches the best way to cut and work petals for maximum shaping

* Shows how to shape and add texture to fabric using the French flower making tools.

* How to use items at home to achieve similar shaping results

* Teaches how to create your flower centre (stamens or thread)

* Assemble your petals to turn it into a magnificent bloom (think stylised rose)

* How to add a flower stem or a brooch backing

In class provided for your use you will have hot glue guns and glue sticks, hot French flower making tools, cotton gloves for heat protection, scissors, wire, brooch backings, petal templates and shaping sponges.
