About the Event

Join respected local historian Malcolm Traill for a fascinating journey through Albany's maritime past.

Three brave women disguised themselves as men and took part in some of the great French exploration voyages of the 18th and 19th centuries. How they managed to do this and (mostly) get away with it is a great tale. This talk will follow their deceptions and discoveries every step of the way..

This talk forms part of the exhibition Early Boatbuilding Around Albany and 50 Years of the Amity Replica, which explores Albany's maritime heritage and commemorates the 50th anniversary of the construction of the Amity replica.
