About the Event
Dr Susie Cramp and Merningar Elder Dr Lynette Knapp presented insights from PEAT Southwest, a transdisciplinary research project investigating the peatlands of southwestern Australia. Guided by Noongar Elders, the project explores the formation, biodiversity and cultural significance of these important ecosystems, which provide habitat for rare and distinctive flora and fauna. The lecture shared discoveries from the research before Dr Knapp joined a yarn about the cultural importance of peatlands and the knowledge connected to them. The event formed part of the Gift of Truth Telling Lecture Series.
