About the Event
The 2026 Albany International Folk ’n’ Shanty Festival brought three days of maritime music, Irish spirit and lively entertainment to venues across the city. Sea shanties, folk songs, Celtic tunes and traditional reels filled Albany’s pubs, halls and streets as performers and audiences moved throughout the CBD. The Irish-themed program attracted musicians and visitors from across Western Australia, with Albany Town Hall performances selling out and live music drawing strong crowds across the weekend. The festival once again highlighted Albany’s maritime heritage through music, storytelling and a spirited sense of community.
