About the Event

Join the launch of The Gift of Truth Telling, a lecture series bringing together science and history to explore some of the many truths of Menang/Merningar boodjar (Country).

The first lecture, An International Perspective on Granite Flora, will be presented by international botanist Professor Stefan Porembski.

This will be followed by a panel discussion with Merningar Elder Lynette Knapp, Merningar Yorga Shandell Cummings, and conservation scientists Professor Stephen Hopper and Dr Alison Lullfitz. The discussion will explore how we can walk together to care for Country, what has been learned over the past 200 years, and what the next 200 years might look like.

This event launches a series of science and history lectures to be held on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month from April to October, from 5.30pm to 6.30pm at UWA Albany, Function Room, Stirling Terrace.
