About the Event
Australian Baroque joined the Albany Chamber Orchestra to present the world premiere of The Six Noongar Seasons, a new cycle of concertos by acclaimed Noongar composer and violist Aaron Wyatt, featuring original poetry by Gina Williams AM. Inspired by Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, the work followed the six Noongar seasons of south-west Western Australia, expressing the changing rhythms of Country through music and spoken word. Directed by violinist Helen Kruger, the performance brought professional musicians together with Albany’s string teachers and advanced students, creating a powerful exchange between classical tradition, Noongar knowledge and the landscapes of the Great Southern.
