About the Event
As winter gives way to spring, Albany's historic Stirling Terrace will bloom across two vibrant evenings during the September long weekend.
One of the city's most significant heritage streetscapes will be transformed into a bustling pedestrian precinct, stretching from York Street to Spencer Street, as the community comes together to welcome longer days and warmer evenings, while launching a spectacular run of events leading into the final months of Albany's bicentenary year.
The Spring Social will see the beautifully preserved heritage buildings and streetscape alive with live music, roving entertainment, market stalls, family-friendly activities and experiences for all ages. Visitors can wander freely through the precinct, enjoying everything from face painting and giant chalk art to street performers and local food vendors.
At the heart of the celebration, Great Southern wine producers will showcase the region's renowned vineyards and award-winning wines within a dedicated tasting zone, while a striking floral entry statement will create a memorable welcome and playful nod to the arrival of spring.
The event also provides the perfect opportunity to experience Albany's celebrated hospitality scene. Enjoy a meal or drink at iconic venues including Dylan’s on the Terrace, Wilson’s Brewing Company, Six Degrees, Gourmandise & Co and Kate's Place, before spilling out onto the street to soak up the atmosphere.
Throughout the evening, ‘Balcony Bands’ will bring live music to the bustling street below, with performances cascading down from Wilson’s Brewery’ elevated balcony.
Whether you're settling in for a seated dinner, sampling local wines, exploring market stalls or simply enjoying a stroll through one of Albany's most picturesque streets, The Spring Social promises a vibrant celebration of place, season and community.
