First Lights - Kinjarling

Across the Bunuru season of 2026, audiences are invited to an immersive experience along ancestral pathways, led by Menang knowledge-holders and artists.

Unfolding as a trilogy over three nights, First Lights – Kinjarling will begin with guided walking and sound journeys across Menang Country, followed by spectacular drone light shows connecting story, constellations and place.

Created by Menang Custodians Lindsay Dean, Averil Dean, and Larry Blight with Noongar artists Kim Scott and Cass Lynch, stories of Koi Kyenunu-Ruff (Stirling Ranges), Borongur (Porongorups) and Mamang Koort (Frenchman’s Bay) will resound at sundown and transform the night sky.

This evocative event not only honours Menang culture but also invites audiences to reflect on their connection to the land, making for a memorable celebration of art and heritage.
