Albany Bicentenary Badminton Tournament
For the first time, a State-ranking badminton tournament was held in the Great Southern, with more than 160 players travelling from Perth, regional Western Australia and across the Great Southern to compete in the Albany Bicentenary Badminton Tournament. The event brought elite-level competition to Albany, with players competing for a share of the $22,000 prize pool and showcasing the growing strength of the sport in regional Western Australia.

On February 21, the first Live @ the Town Hall event of 2026 took place as a special Albany Pride Festival edition. The sold-out evening celebrated diversity, representation and community connection through an exciting lineup of Western Australian musicians. Headlined by internationally acclaimed artist Alter Boy, the event also featured performances from Georga Raath, Rosalie Chilvers and Parclo, alongside DJ sets from Lima Brightlove.
