Albany’s Stirling Terrace will trade traffic for live music, street entertainment and alfresco dining when The Spring Social transforms the precinct across two vibrant evenings this September long weekend.
Presented by the City of Albany as part of the Albany 2026 program, the free event will take place from 5pm to 9pm on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 September, between York and Spencer Street.
The pedestrian precinct will feature market stalls, music, roving entertainment and local food vendors, while face painting, giant chalk art and other creative activities will offer plenty for younger visitors.
Great Southern wine producers will showcase the region’s renowned vineyards within a dedicated wine market, while a striking floral installation will welcome visitors and mark the arrival of spring.
Mayor Greg Stocks said The Spring Social celebrates the history and character of Stirling Terrace, creating opportunities for the community to connect with the many stories within the historic precinct.
“Stirling Terrace has been at the heart of Albany for generations, and every building, laneway and corner has a story to tell,” he said.
“The Spring Social is an opportunity to bring those stories to life, encouraging people to explore the Terrace, experience its unique character and celebrate the history that has shaped it.
“We have seen through Lighting the Sound just how much potential there is in Stirling Terrace when we create space for people to come together, explore the street and support our local businesses.”
Mayor Stocks said the event would also showcase the businesses that contribute to Stirling Terrace’s distinctive character and atmosphere.
“Whether people choose to settle in for dinner, sample local wines, browse the market stalls or simply enjoy an evening stroll, The Spring Social is an invitation to experience one of Albany’s most beautiful streets in a completely different way,” he said.
Visitors are encouraged to dine or enjoy a drink at hospitality venues throughout the precinct, including Dylan’s on the Terrace, Wilson’s Brewing Company, Six Degrees, Gourmandise & Co and Kate’s Place, with extended trading adding to the atmosphere across both evenings.
As part of the Bloom Festival program, The Spring Social will welcome the changing season and launch a spectacular run of events leading into the final months of the Albany 2026 program.
